Mad Elemental

The elements seem to run wild through the Wyrm Peaks. Do not take this for florid prose, this is meant in the most literal sense. Free elements of Air and Earth especially have been seen tearing through this mountain range. Their origin, who summoned them, and what made them mad remains a mystery.

All five kinds of Elementals have been discovered in the mountains, and even shadowy spirits from the Nether realms are not unheard of. They power levels are varied, from tiny and mischievous spirits to whirling vortexes that seem to be setting off on a purposeful path of wanton destruction and death.

  • I have heard it said that there was a city up those mountains. It was a city of magicians perched high up in an inaccessible plateau. When the Horrors came they pleaded with the Earth to protect them, and it did not answer. They pleaded with the Air and it whistled by. Every spirit they could think of ignored their bargaining, until they discovered the Name of a fearsome creature from the deepest planes. When they summoned it it broke through their expert circles, and turned the remaining ruin into its Den. If this story is true, perhaps more than just the material plane was torn asunder, and these spirits come from this ‘Den’. – Gehodzi
  • Summoning previously unheard of beings just before the Age of Isolation? They could have uncovered anything. – Basheel
  • There are ruins in the mountains, and potent magics. Alas, I am sworn to secrecy to speak of it in more detail. But suffice to say, those ruins are dangerous and bear no interest for you or I. – Kaya Neshi
  • You all are worse than a circle of crones. Verdant Dawn would not allow such a creature to live in her own back yard. Surely it is far more likely that these are either her failed experiments, or they are her guards striving to protect her treasures. – Ahnanai
